YDGH – $4.50 512MB OpenVZ VPS Exclusive Offer

Special VPS

YourDomainGoesHere Wayne from YourDomainGoesHere (YDGH) emailed me 2 days ago about their exclusive offer to the LowEndBox. com readers. There are two exclusive promo codes. First of all, use LEB10 to get 10% off recurring discount from their already-cheap OpenVZ VPS. Which means you can get their “VPS1″ for $4. 50/month which has

  • 512MB memory
  • 20GB storage
  • 1,000GB/month data transfer
  • OpenVZ/vePortal

Their servers are in Dallas. Do also check our previous thread on YDGH and there are some good feedbacks from customers. Hopefully they will be around for the long run.

Now here’s another promo code from YDGH. Use LEB3 to get 3 months free when you pay for a year. The yearly price is $4. 50/month and $54/year. However when I applied the promo code I am getting $30 once off discount which brings down the cost to $24 for the first year. Pretty awesome for test driving this low end VPS. Not sure whether it is intentional or a mistake. The promo code issue has now been fixed.

  1. Yep, their single nameserver is down.

And people wonder why some of us harp on about redundant DNS? :)

    YDGH, you fail webhosting forever…

  2. Looks like a DNS issue.

  3. Website down for me too

  4. @James – I am also unable to load their website.

  5. Signed up with them. Now my vps is down and here is what I got from them in response to my inquiry:

We are offering customers on server5 and server7 free transfers to server8, please view this forum post for more details!
    http://www.yourdomaingoeshere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8

Well, the problem is I can’t pull up yourdomaingoeshere.com

I would not recommend these guys.

  6. @innya the 3 month is not recurring. (Basically this is a 25% discount, and is by far the best promo we have ever offered!) You can use LEB10 which is recurring on the Annual term if you want, because the annual term already gets 10% discount by default!

@joe the WHT promo is not the same as the LEB10 promo. WHT is a one time 10% discount on first payment. We purposely made the LEB promo our absolute best promo as a special thanks to LowEndBox.com !

If you will email sales@yourdomaingoeshere.com and CC me wayne@yourdomaingoeshere.com Joe, I will personally make sure your promo is switched from WHT to LEB10 though to make sure you get the recurring instead of just the first month.

I will do the same for anyone who used WHT. If you are a LowEndBox reader, just email us per above and we will be more than happy to switch you the recurring!

  7. @Klikli they changed their price not to long ago, but after you add in $5 for each node for vecommander it’s about the same.

  8. UPDATE: It seems that now vePortal is cheaper than SolusVM. Either they had changed their price recently or I remembered wrong.

  9. @James – Swap isn’t possible on OpenVZ systems.

  10. So is there no swap on this? Can’t I partition the disk to have a swap with my OS that I install?

  11. The service is very good and the servers are stable. Also the support is very nice and is online in the live chat most of the time.

  12. @Mike – LOL, probably. Although Burst blaim it on vePortal.

  13. Jackk: I might chalk that up to Burst being Burst, rather than any inherent issue with vePortal. Burst is kind of like British Telecom; they taint and corrupt everything they come into contact with. If they branched out into the gravel business – crushed-up rock, what could go wrong?! – I’m sure they’d screw that up, too, somehow.

  14. vePortal (Or BurstNET’s copy is atleast) is buggy.

  15. To be honest, very few hosts uses vePortal due as SolusVM has a lower price.

  16. Their servers are in Dallas (not Scranton PA like Burst)

  17. Nevermind :D They aren’t… Someone answered my question for me.

  18. They seem like they’re BurstNET resellers…

  19. This is a great provider, i signed up as soon as the deal was posted on WHT (10% deal exists there too)

  20. @innya for one year only.

  21. @James we are offering transfers off of that server because of all the issues we are having with veportal. Veportal is full of bugs and we are switching to solusvm.
Our site, along with your VPS was down for just a few minutes because of a permissions issue that happens with veportal every so often making us reboot the entire server.
You would not recommend us because we are victim of veportal bugs? That’s harsh, but we will accept this nonetheless.
Also, we did not send anything in response to any inquiry to you. That was a mass email sent out minutes before we became the victim of the veportal internal server error permissions bug. Also, you must have signed up under a different name, because we have noone named “James” in our system.

@mike Redundant DNS or not, the issue was further than nameservers as the whole server was in the process of being rebooted. Our site is on the same server as server5 customers.

We apologize for any inconvenience this caused server5 customers and are willing to take full responsibility for the downtime regardless of how short it may have been. If you would open a ticket with us we will be glad to do what we can to keep your business.

@Corey wow, nice to see that you are taking responsibilities of the issues/downtimes even though it was vePortal, as you say.

I would have definately given you a try if it was XEN but OpenVZ is a no-no with me :)

I am their new customer and also a newbie … at first place they shouldn’t have sold me their services considering tons of newbie questions coming their way … but Wayne not only encouraged me to go for it but is also promptly helping me in all issues I encounter. They even made me a phone call to India … although I declined phone call help, I feel this is the best experience I had with any customer service and that too at such a low price. These guys seem to be working very hard and am sure they will go long way in their venture. If at all there are any small issues I strongly feel we must give them some time … again what more can we except at this price. I will strongly recommend them to my friends.

It seems fishy, they domain is not look so good to see and they dont have any professional support team I believe. Already their main IP has been blacklisted by different mail provider, they also face mail marketing issue on their node, dont even know how to stop them :)

@Ozib – I believe this is a VPS provider – You are responsible for the handling of spam on your system.

    Thanks @Jackk

Thats correct. We do monitor and shut down abusers, however you are responsible for that as well.

We did find out that one of our class C blocks given to us from our colo provider is on a few spam blacklists.. However thats really not an issue we have close to a thousand unused IPs and can easily get more as we need them.

As for SSL, when you checkout…….. You go to paypal or Google Checkouts site I am pretty sure their SSL works ;)

We understand there are going to be competitors using random names to post any flaw they can find about us…. And I will be the first to tell you that yes we do have flaws. What is important is that we WILL do everything we can to resolve any problems. If you had any valid reason to claim we do not have professional support then by all means let me know personally. I am one of the 2 Founders of YDGH and I WILL fix any support issues immediately.

We are very passionate about our business! And if someone is being unprofessional I DO want to know about it.

There are 6 of us that you may work with on a regular basis. As we grow there will be more! Over nights our support is a little more limited… However we ARE there to help with what we can 24x7x365 and any emergency situations can be fixed immediately.

We get a HUGE amount of request that we SHOULD not support… “Can you install this for me, My emails not working, I have this scripting error” ect….. That we still fix when we can… Even though they are way beyond our support.

Bottom line is that we are VERY passionate about our business and if you have a concern bring it to our attention we WILL help the best we can!!

Well getting blacklisted IPs is not an issue. I love QuickWeb and as I can remember, on my first ever VPS, I was given an IP which was blacklisted, asked for replacement which was also blacklisted. The third time the new ip I was issued was clean. So, this is not an issue and I believe if an IP is blacklisted, providers just don’t throw them away, they request them to be removed from that blacklisted database.

@Wayne Keep up the good work

I must say, that they really try to correct every problem as soon as possible – for example they changed the vePortal panel with SolusVM. For now, the servers are fast and stable. Also, I like their approach to offer only guaranteed RAM.
