Data Center Firm AiNET Wins Web Host and ISP Customer Vector Data Systems
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Colocation and data center provider AiNET announced on Tuesday that web host and ISP Vector Data Systems has selected its Beltsville, Maryland data center for colocation, and Internet connectivity services. AiNET will also provide rooftop rights for antennas. This customer win comes almost a month after AiNET launched its cloud-based storage as a service offering to support real-time applications. Vector Data Systems says it will benefit from the reliability of AiNET's Tier IV data center and its Internet access. Citrix Systems Acquires Cloud Data Storage Firm ShareFile
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Software developer Citrix Systems (www.citrix.com) announced on Thursday that it has completed its acquisition of cloud-based data storage provider ShareFile (www.sharefile.com). The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. According to the press release, ShareFile provides secure, cloud-based data storage, sharing and collaboration to businesses of all sizes. Its centralized cloud storage capability allows users to share files across multiple devices and access them from any location. Citrix says with this acquisition it now has a powerful new technology platform and talented team with experience in data services and cloud computing. Hitachi Data Systems Acquires Network Storage Provider BluArc

The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Verizon Uses Vigilent Cooling Systems to Reduce Energy Consumption at Data Centers

Vigilent energy management systems consist of hundreds of wireless temperature sensors at each data center that are connected through an intelligent mesh network to on-site servers using energy management software.
