IBM Acquires Cloud Management Software Firm Platform Computing
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- IBM announced on Monday it has completed the acquisition of Platform Computing, a Toronto-based cluster, grid and cloud management software for distributed computing environments. The financial terms were not disclosed in the press release.
This is the second cloud management software company IBM has acquired in a week, following last week's acquisition of Green Hat, a software quality and testing solutions for the cloud and other environments.
The company first announced in October that it would acquire Platform Computing, whose software helps clients create, integrate and manage shared computing environments that are used in compute- and data-intensive applications such as simulations, computer modeling and analytics.
