Citrix Systems Acquires Cloud Data Storage Firm ShareFile

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Software developer Citrix Systems (www.citrix.com) announced on Thursday that it has completed its acquisition of cloud-based data storage provider ShareFile (www.sharefile.com). The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

According to the press release, ShareFile provides secure, cloud-based data storage, sharing and collaboration to businesses of all sizes. Its centralized cloud storage capability allows users to share files across multiple devices and access them from any location.

Citrix says with this acquisition it now has a powerful new technology platform and talented team with experience in data services and cloud computing. ShareFile CEO Jesse Lipson will become vice president and general manager of the new Data Sharing product group at Citrix.
